Unworthy Review – Steam (Recommended Playing)

Game

Wanted so bad to like it. But it just doesn’t feel fleshed out or finished. Maybe eventually it will be better, but it’s for sale now, and that’s what I’m judging it on. Also I have a moustache now, and feel like a dastardly villain.

  1. Hold on, hold on…so you're saying combat is stagnant, but using different weapons that make you change your playstyle are bad because you can't block the punishing damage…that's the same critique we've heard from many other reviewers about Dark Souls. And it's just as telling in this review as it was in those.

  2. Ou man. So much negativity. I love this game but at the end, i guess, its just your opinion. We are all humans 🙂 think about, this game was made by 1 Person and that person gets all my love…

  3. A metroidvania without jumping sounds like a disaster; having to explore, and backtrack, a large map with only the simplest traversal options makes no sense. It works in Dark Souls and other similar games since those take place in a 3D space, but 2D typically demands for a faster approach. Replacing the jump with that teleportation arrow is just stupid. I get that the designer doesn't want the player to jump in combat, but this is a dumb solution. Make it so that a weapon needs to be slowly equipped or unequipped to allow jumping; anything would be better. I can also see myself hating the color scheme very quickly. It looks beautiful and extremely well animated but the lack of details will no doubt get on my nerves sooner than later. All that said, something about this game does call to me, despite the daunting amount of flaws. I don't think I'll like it but I do want to try it for myself. This is one of your best reviews. Well spoken, well explained, and perfectly fair to the pros and cons. Well done.

And congrats on your new mustache. Welcome to the fold.
